School Age Swim Stages 4 through 6 - Stroke Introduction & Stroke Development & Stroke Mechanics

Intermediate able to swim 1 length of the pool and advanced able to swim 1-2 lengths of the pool.

Students learn personal water safety and achieve basic swimming competency by learning benchmark skills:

- Increases comfort with underwater exploration and introduces basic self-rescue skills performed with assistance. Students learn personal water safety and achieve basic swimming competencies.
- Introduces breaststroke and butterfly and reinforces water safety through treading water and sidestroke.
- Refines stroke technique on all major competitive strokes and encourages swimming as part of a healthy lifestyle.

Advanced able to swim 1-2 lengths of the pool.

Introduces basic stroke technique in front crawl and back crawl and reinforces water safety through treading water and elementary backstroke. Future develops breaststroke and butterfly and reinforces water safety through treading water and sidestroke. Refines stroke technique on all major competitive strokes and encourages swimming as part of a healthy lifestyle.
