Description

Y Cheer is a volunteer-coached program, designed to teach the basics of cheerleading to children who have never cheered before and to those who are looking to improve their skills. Focus will be on good sportsmanship, cheer movements, and cheer rhythm. The YMCA's core values will be emphasized throughout the season. 

All ages will practice for one hour during the week followed by a Saturday game day. Teams will be split up based on age, practice availability, teammate/coach request, and skill level.

Practice and Game schedules can be accessed through your YMCA Account and will be finalized the week of the Meet & Greet.

Requirements

  • Closed-toe shoes and a YMCA t-shirts are required.
  • Practices are held once during the week; games take place on Saturdays.

YMCA sports t-shirts & pom poms are required for participation. This purchase includes one shirt and one set of pom poms. If you already have a YMCA cheer t-shirt and set of pom poms there is no need to purchase another. YMCA T-shirt and pom poms are defaulted to be added to your cart. Please deselect the check box during registration, or remove it from the cart if you do not need to purchase shirts.
