For persons who are occupationally required or just desire the have CPR and AED knowledge and skills. Ideal for those in emergency response teams in business and industry, school bus drivers, adult residential care personnel, child care workers, teachers, parents and babysitters. Skills Taught and Evaluated for CPR are: External chest compressions, Rescue breathing using a CPR mask or shield, Primary assessment for an unresponsive person, CPR as a single provider. Must pass a written exam with a score of 80% or better. Skills Taught and Evaluated for First Aid are: Removal of contaminated gloves, Primary assessment for an unresponsive person, Primary assessment for a responsive person, Control severe bleeding, Stabilize a suspected head, neck, or back injury, Stabilize a swollen, painful, deformed limb. Must pass a written exam with a score of 80% or better.
This is a blended learning course which includes an online portion and a classroom portion. Completion of the online portion prior to the start of the class is required. Must have a computer or tablet and internet to complete the online portion from home.
